A Step Finance alternative for Solana portfolios

Step Finance was where a lot of Solana users went to see a wallet and its DeFi positions on one screen. That page has been gone since Step shut down in February 2026. Cashboard covers part of what Step did. Paste a public Solana address and the balances land on a board next to Sanctum LST yields and Hyperliquid funding. It will not itemize your lending deposits or LP positions, though, and if that was the reason you opened Step, you will miss it.

What is Step Finance?

Step Finance launched in 2021 as a Solana portfolio dashboard under the line "The Front Page of Solana". It pulled a wallet's tokens and its positions across Solana DeFi protocols into one view. On January 31, 2026, attackers drained its treasury after compromising devices that belonged to members of the executive team. No smart contract was exploited. Step looked for financing or a buyer, and when neither came through it announced in February 2026 that it was shutting down operations.

When is Cashboard the better fit?

  • You used Step to check Solana balances and want a watch-only replacement. Tracking needs no signature, and Cashboard's own code never signs.
  • You want your wallet on the same screen as jitoSOL and mSOL yields, Raydium pools and Hyperliquid funding.
  • Boards and watched addresses should live on your own device, not in someone else's cloud account.

When is Step Finance the better fit?

  • You need every lending, LP and staking deposit itemized by protocol. Step can no longer do that, so each protocol's own app is the place to check.
  • You want to stake, lend or manage LP positions from the dashboard. The only transaction Cashboard offers is a swap on the web, signed by your own wallet in Jupiter's or LI.FI's form.

Frequently asked questions

Is Step Finance still running?

No. Step announced in February 2026 that it was shutting down, a few weeks after its treasury was hacked on January 31. If you watched addresses there, paste the same public addresses into a Cashboard portfolio widget. You will see wallet balances, not protocol positions.

Do I have to connect my Solana wallet to Cashboard?

No. Paste any public Solana address and Cashboard reads its balances over Solana RPC. You can connect a wallet, but that only saves you pasting the address. Connecting brings no signature prompt, and Cashboard has no use for your recovery words. Cashboard's own code never signs. If you swap on the web, your own wallet signs in Jupiter's form.
