Chainlink (LINK) live price dashboard
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network co-founded by Sergey Nazarov and Steve Ellis, with the LINK token sold in 2017. This board puts LINK beside BTC and ETH with 7-day and 30-day candles.
What is Chainlink?
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network co-founded by Sergey Nazarov and Steve Ellis, with the LINK token sold in 2017. Independent node operators bring prices and other off-chain data to smart contracts, and LINK pays for that work and can be staked. Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) moves tokens and messages between blockchains.
Nazarov, Ellis and Ari Juels published the Chainlink white paper in 2017, and the LINK sale that September raised $32 million. Mainnet followed in May 2019. Supply is fixed at 1 billion LINK, all created at launch, and a sizeable part still sits in project wallets. Every time tokens leave those addresses, someone on X posts about it.
What Chainlink sells is mostly data. Lending markets such as Aave read its price feeds to decide when to liquidate, so a bad feed would do real damage. Reliability is the product. Staking v0.2 arrived in late 2023 with a pool capped at 45 million LINK.
In August 2025 Chainlink started the Chainlink Reserve, which buys LINK with revenue from enterprise clients and on-chain fees and has not sold any. Add experiments with Swift and tokenized fund pilots, and LINK tends to react to bank news more than most tokens do.

Frequently asked questions
What is the max supply of LINK?
1 billion LINK. The whole supply was created at launch in 2017, so there is no mining or inflation. Circulating supply grows as tokens are released from non-circulating project wallets.
How is Chainlink different from Pyth?
Chainlink pays independent node operators to fetch and aggregate data, and mostly pushes updates on-chain. Pyth collects prices straight from exchanges and trading firms and lets apps pull the latest price when they need it. Chainlink is older and dominates Ethereum lending, while Pyth grew up on Solana and is widely used by perp DEXs.
Can I track LINK without an account?
Yes. The LINK board on this page runs in your browser and saves on your device. Prices come from CoinGecko, and Binance fills in when CoinGecko does not answer. Paste a public Solana or EVM address into a watch-only Portfolio widget if you hold LINK there.
