What is net worth?
Crypto net worth is the current value of everything you hold across wallets, chains, perp accounts and manual entries, minus what you owe.
How is crypto net worth calculated?
It is the one number that sums up a portfolio: token balances, staked assets, LP positions, perp account equity and stablecoins, minus anything borrowed. Watch it over weeks and it tells you if you are actually getting richer, whatever one coin did today.
Each part has a catch. Every holding needs a price you trust. LP positions and lending deposits have to be valued through their underlying tokens. And a perp account counts at its equity, not its position size, so a $5,000 account holding a $50,000 position at 10x adds $5,000.
Thin tokens do the most damage. Ten ETH priced from a deep market is solid. A bag of 50 million memecoin units whose only pool holds $20,000 is a guess, because selling it would crush the price. Count that bag at the last trade and your net worth can look far bigger than it is.
Some invented numbers. Watched wallets hold $42,000 in majors and stablecoins, a Hyperliquid account has $6,000 of equity, and a thin token shows $15,000 at its last price. The honest figure is $48,000, with the $15,000 kept beside it as an estimate.
Also called: crypto net worth, total portfolio value.
Where does net worth show up in Cashboard?
The Net worth widget reads the Portfolio widgets on the same board and any Perps positions widgets there too. A Hyperliquid account adds its perps equity, its spot balances and its staked HYPE, unless you switch the widget to Ex Hyperliquid. A unified or portfolio-margin account keeps its perps collateral inside its spot balance, so that collateral is counted once. It counts only values with a market quote behind them, so a manual portfolio with any unquoted asset is left out until every asset has a price. It prefixes the total with ≈ and shows how many sources loaded. It does not see loans, so no debt is subtracted, and it does not discount a thin token for low liquidity.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my crypto net worth?
Add up each holding at a price you could realistically sell at, add perp account equity (not position size), then subtract anything borrowed. Keep thinly traded tokens as a separate estimate.
