Solana spot vs Hyperliquid perps: basis and funding

Solana edge takes the deepest Solana spot pair for each token and sets it next to that token’s Hyperliquid perp. The difference is the basis. Beside it you get funding APR, a tag for who is paying carry, perp open interest, and how much of the combined 24h volume trades on Solana rather than on Hyperliquid. Twelve assets are covered: SOL, JUP, WIF, BONK, JTO, POPCAT, FARTCOIN, RENDER, W, MOODENG, ME and USELESS. BONK is matched against Hyperliquid’s kBONK, which is priced per 1,000 BONK, and the widget adjusts for that.

Frequently asked questions

What does a positive basis mean?

The perp trades above Solana spot. It usually comes with positive funding, so longs are paying shorts to hold the position. Usually, not always.

Can I get an alert on basis?

Yes. A Price alert widget can watch basis or funding APR for any of the twelve Solana edge assets.

Is a wide basis a trade signal?

No, and the widget says so. On a thin memecoin a wide basis can close by the leg you did not trade moving against you.
