How to set a funding rate alert

Add a Price alert, switch its metric to Funding APR, pick a token and set Above or Below with a percent threshold. Press Arm and a system notification arrives when Hyperliquid funding crosses it. One limit up front: funding alerts cover only the 12 Solana tokens in the Solana edge feed, so BTC and ETH get price alerts only.

Step by step

    Add an alert

    Open the Add panel and pick Alert under On the board. One widget handles price, funding APR and basis, so you start from a plain price alert and change it.

    Switch the metric

    Change the metric from Price to Funding APR. Switching pauses the alert and resets the threshold to 50%, so a half-edited rule never fires by accident.

    Choose the token

    The list is the Solana edge feed: SOL, JUP, WIF, BONK, JTO, POPCAT, FARTCOIN, RENDER, W, MOODENG, ME and USELESS. Each one also trades as a Hyperliquid perp.

    Set direction and threshold

    Pick Above or Below and type the APR in percent. Negative numbers work, which is how you catch the moment shorts start paying longs.

    Arm it

    Press Arm and allow notifications when the browser asks. The widget checks every 20 seconds and shows the live value next to your rule, with a bar for the distance still to go. It fires once, then stays quiet until the value moves back and crosses again.

    Keep the context close

    Put Solana edge and Funding rates on the same board. When the alert fires, you want to see why without opening another tab.

Tips

  • A browser alert only runs while its tab is open. The desktop app checks enabled alerts on every saved board every 15 seconds, minimized or not, and waits five minutes before repeating the same one.
  • Basis works the same way. It fires when the Hyperliquid perp trades a set percent above or below Solana spot, and starts from 0.5% when you switch to it.
  • An alert only notifies. It never places an order.

Can I set a funding alert for BTC or ETH?

Not today. Funding APR and Basis alerts read the Solana edge feed, which only tracks Solana tokens that also trade as Hyperliquid perps. For BTC and ETH the alert supports price thresholds.

How is funding APR calculated for the alert?

The alert annualizes the current hourly Hyperliquid rate, so a single busy hour can swing it hard. Positive means longs pay shorts. Set the threshold with that jumpiness in mind.
