What is HyperEVM?
HyperEVM is the Ethereum-compatible contract layer of Hyperliquid, chain ID 999, secured by the same HyperBFT consensus as its order books.
How does HyperEVM work?
Outside developers cannot deploy code on HyperCore, the part of Hyperliquid that runs the order books. HyperEVM is where they can. It went live on February 18, 2025. A contract there sits on the same chain as the perps rather than on a sidechain behind a bridge.
To a wallet it looks like any EVM network: chain ID 999, 0x addresses, HYPE for gas, the usual Ethereum tooling. Underneath it has two kinds of blocks. Small ones arrive about every second with a 3M gas limit. Large ones come roughly once a minute with 30M gas, for heavy jobs like contract deployments. Precompiles let contracts read HyperCore state such as prices and positions, which is why so much of what gets built here orbits the perp venue: lending markets, DEXs, liquid staking for HYPE, stablecoins.
The part that confuses people is that one address holds two separate balances. Funds on HyperCore do not show up in an EVM wallet until you transfer them across, and the other way round too. Nothing vanished. It is on the other side.
Suppose you deposit 1,000 USDC, send 400 to HyperEVM to lend in a money market and keep 600 on HyperCore as perp margin. An explorer for HyperEVM shows the 400. The 600 only appears on the Hyperliquid trading side.

Where does HyperEVM show up in Cashboard?
HyperEVM is part of Cashboard's featured Hyperliquid network. Chain status tracks HyperEVM's block height, block age, gas price and RPC latency. Pools come from GeckoTerminal in Trending on-chain. Cashboard cannot read HyperEVM wallet balances yet, because HyperEVM has no working Blockscout indexer. The HyperCore side of a 0x address (perps, spot balances, staked HYPE) does load, in the Perps positions widget.
