What are jito tips?

A Jito tip is a SOL payment to a validator running Jito's software, so a transaction or bundle lands quickly and in a set order.

How do jito tips work?

Jito Labs runs a block engine that validators running Jito's software plug into. Bots and trading apps send it bundles: up to five transactions that execute in order and all-or-nothing. Each bundle carries a tip in SOL, paid to one of eight Jito tip accounts. The minimum is 1,000 lamports.

Tips and priority fees buy different things. A priority fee buys a better place in the normal transaction queue. A tip bids in the block engine's auction for bundle inclusion. During a launch, when the first blocks decide who gets in cheap, trading terminals usually send both.

Jito also publishes a tip floor: percentiles of recently landed tips, up to the 99th, plus a smoothed median. If the 50th percentile reads 0.0001 SOL, half of recently landed bundles tipped less than that. It is a quick read on how contested block space is. Traders misread it all the time: it describes tips that already landed, and the tip you need a second from now can be far higher.

Imagine a busy pump.fun launch that pushes the 75th percentile up tenfold in three minutes before it settles. A bot tipping a fixed amount the whole time lands fewer bundles exactly when it matters.

Also called: Jito bundles, Jito tip, Jito tip floor.

Where do jito tips show up in Cashboard?

Solana pulse reads Jito's tip floor and shows the median, 95th and 99th percentile of landed bundle tips, with the smoothed median in lamports. When its congestion reading says congested, the hint is to expect the fast fee tier or a Jito tip. Chain status shows the ordinary Solana fee per compute unit. Cashboard's own code never sends a transaction, so it cannot tell you your own landing rate. A swap you start on the web runs in Jupiter's form, and your own wallet signs it.

What is the Jito tip floor?

Jito's published percentiles of tips on recently landed bundles. It tells you roughly what other senders paid to get in lately. It is not a quote, and in a spike the tip that lands can be well above it.
