What is a memecoin launchpad?

A memecoin launchpad lets anyone create a token and trade it within seconds, usually on a bonding curve that graduates to a DEX pool once it fills.

How does a memecoin launchpad work?

Launchpads turned token creation into filling in a form. Pick a name, a ticker and an image, pay a network fee, and the token is live with no contract to write and no liquidity to seed. On Solana two of the biggest are pump.fun, live since January 2024, and Raydium LaunchLab, which opened in April 2025. Front ends such as LetsBonk run on top of LaunchLab, and other chains have their own copies.

Most of them share one structure. A token starts on a bonding curve with a fixed supply (on pump.fun, 1 billion tokens, about 800 million of them sold on the curve). When the curve fills, the token graduates to an AMM pool: PumpSwap for pump.fun, Raydium for LaunchLab. The launchpad takes a fee on curve trades and often shares a cut with the creator.

Near-free launches feed the trenches. The sniper bots and trading terminals exist because of that flow. The format did fix some old problems, like a mint authority that could print more supply, but the two biggest risks stayed: insiders holding the supply, and a price with nothing under it but attention.

Suppose 20,000 tokens launch on one platform in a day. A couple of hundred fill their curve and graduate. By the next morning maybe a dozen still trade with real volume. So the useful thing launchpad data tells you is where attention is going this hour, far more than which token will win.

Also called: token launchpad, launchpad.

Where does a memecoin launchpad show up in Cashboard?

Launchpad radar has two views. New lists the latest pump.fun and LaunchLab launches by creation time. Momentum shows live pump.fun coins by market cap next to LaunchLab curves with the most recent trades. Rows carry curve progress where the venue reports it, or a graduated tag, and LaunchLab rows carry no dollar market cap. Trending on-chain can then show where a graduated token trades, once it makes GeckoTerminal's trending list for that network. Base launches covers Zora and Clanker on Base. Clanker has no curve at all: a new token starts in a Uniswap v4 pool whose liquidity is locked for good, so its rows show pool liquidity where Launchpad radar shows curve progress.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to launch a token on a launchpad?

Usually almost nothing: a network fee and sometimes a small platform fee. That is why thousands of tokens launch every day, and why most of them have nothing behind them.
