How to track a Base wallet by its address

A Base wallet needs one widget and its 0x address, with Base picked as the chain. Cashboard reads ETH and ERC-20 balances from Blockscout's public API. There is no wallet to connect and no transaction to approve.

Step by step

    Add the portfolio widget

    Open the command palette with Ctrl K and run Add watch-only portfolio. It drops onto the board you already have open, which suits a Base wallet you want next to charts you already watch.

    Paste the 0x address

    Select the widget, check that the chain says Base and paste the address. The same widget covers other EVM networks such as Ethereum and Arbitrum One. A BNB Chain or Avalanche wallet will not load, since portfolios are not indexed on those two.

    Add Base context

    Put Trending on-chain set to Base beside it. Then add Chain status (Networks in the Add panel) for Base block age, fees in gwei and RPC latency, or Base pulse from the Base group for transfer and swap costs in dollars, TPS and DEX volume.

    Total it up

    Net worth adds this wallet to every other portfolio on the board. Tokens without a verified market quote stay out of the sum.

Tips

  • For several addresses, select a finished widget, press Ctrl D and paste the next address into the copy.
  • Blockscout's public API needs no key. The desktop app can store a Blockscout Pro API key under Connections for higher limits. The web version cannot.
  • The desktop app can also fall back to a Coinbase RPC endpoint you set up yourself. That fallback reads the native ETH balance only, with no price, so treat it as a safety net rather than a full view.
  • If you hold on Base and Solana, place one watch-only portfolio per chain side by side and let Net worth add them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect a wallet to see my Base balances?

No. The 0x address is enough. The Connect browser wallet button is a shortcut for filling in that address and does nothing else, and no signature request ever appears.

Why do some small tokens not show a value?

The portfolio and the net worth total only count balances with a verified market quote. A token without one is shown with no value rather than a made-up price. Plenty of airdropped tokens on Base fall into this bucket. Hide dust keeps those rows folded away until you press Show.
