Widget · Ethereum pulse
Ethereum gas tracker with blob fees, burn and staking APR
The Ethereum pulse shows what an Ethereum transaction costs right now and where the fee goes. Gas comes in three tiers, Slow, Standard and Fast, each the next block's base fee plus a recent priority tip, with the dollar cost of a plain transfer and a 150,000-gas swap. Below that sit the blob fee rollups pay, set against the protocol's blob target, the ETH burned over the last hour and a day, week, month or since-the-Merge window you pick, and supply growth set against issuance. A status row adds the head block's gas limit, how far finality trails the clock and the number of active validators. Staking APR comes two ways: the protocol rate and Lido's stETH rate. Gas and blobs are read from public Ethereum RPC every 15 seconds, a little slower than Ethereum's 12-second blocks. If ultrasound.money stops answering, the gas tiers keep working, just without their dollar figures.
What does the Ethereum pulse widget show?
- Slow, Standard and Fast gas in gwei, each the next base fee plus the median 10th, 50th or 90th percentile tip of the last 20 blocks, with the dollar cost of a transfer and a swap
- The next block's base fee, how far it moved over the last 20 blocks and how full those blocks were against the 50% target, with the block number and average block time
- The head block's gas limit and how full that block is, how many epochs finality trails the clock, and the number of active validators, not counting those that are exiting
- The next block's blob base fee, the cost of one 128 KiB blob, how much of the per-block blob maximum the last 20 blocks used against a tick at the blob target (14 of 21 as of October 2026, read live by the widget), and a note when the fee sits near its floor of the base fee divided by 16
- ETH burned in the last hour and over the window you pick (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or since the Merge), the dollar value of that burn and a live burn for the sampled blocks
- ETH supply with its yearly growth at the pace of the same window, labeled inflationary or deflationary, and the share of issuance the burn offsets
- Staked ETH, its share of supply, the protocol staking APR and Lido's 7-day stETH APR
Where does the Ethereum pulse data come from?
| Sources | Public Ethereum RPC (PublicNode, with Tenderly as the fallback), PublicNode beacon API, ultrasound.money, Lido API |
|---|---|
| Settings | Full or Compact layout (Compact keeps only the gas tiers, burn and supply); Burn and supply window: 24 hours, 7 days (the default), 30 days or since the Merge |
| Works in | Web and desktop |
| Access | Read-only. The widget itself never asks for a signature |

Frequently asked questions
How are the Slow, Standard and Fast prices worked out?
Each tier is the next block's base fee plus a priority tip. For the tip, the widget reads the 10th, 50th and 90th percentile tips of the last 20 blocks with eth_feeHistory and takes the median of each. The dollar costs price 21,000 gas for a transfer and 150,000 for a swap at the ultrasound.money ETH price.
What happens when one of the sources is down?
Each part fails on its own. Without ultrasound.money, gas and blobs still load from RPC but their dollar costs read n/a, the supply tile says ultrasound.money did not answer, the burn tile keeps only its live RPC figure and staking keeps Lido's APR. Without the RPC, the gas, base fee and blob tiles say the public RPC did not answer and the rest stays. If only the blob target is unavailable, the blob tile loses its target tick and says so, and if the beacon node is down the status row drops finality and validators. If a whole refresh fails, the last reading stays on screen and the footer shows its age.
