What are the trenches in crypto?

The trenches is slang for trading brand-new on-chain memecoins minute by minute, mostly on Solana, and trenchers are the people who do it every day.

What happens in the trenches?

It describes a way of trading more than a place. A trencher watches fresh pump.fun launches, keeps an eye on trending lists and a dozen group chats, and tries to be in and out of a token inside an hour. Most of it happens on Solana. Base and BNB Chain have smaller scenes of their own.

The tools are specific. Fast trading terminals, wallet trackers that follow addresses with a good record, bots that buy the moment a token goes live, and Jito tips or priority fees to land a transaction ahead of everyone else. Seconds matter here. So does being in the right chat.

It is a rough place to make money. Rug pulls, bundled insider supply, wash-traded volume and sniper bots are part of every single day. Most tokens go to zero. The traders who win consistently are a small group, and they usually have faster tools and more capital than the people buying from them.

Say a trencher sees a token graduate from pump.fun, checks the top holders and the pool depth, buys 0.5 SOL of it, sells half ten minutes later after a 3x and the rest soon after at about the same price. Then 0.5 SOL goes into each of the next three tokens, and all three drop 70 percent. The hour ends roughly flat, and in the trenches that counts as a decent hour.

Also called: trenching, trenchers, in the trenches.

Where do the trenches show up in Cashboard?

The line "Figma for trenchers" is aimed at this crowd. One board can hold Launchpad radar, Trending on-chain, Solana pulse with priority fees and Jito bundle tips, and a watch-only portfolio for the wallet you trade from. On Base, Base launches adds the newest Clanker tokens and Zora coins. Cashboard's own code never signs a transaction or places an order. On the web, Buy on a token row loads it into Jupiter's swap form for Solana or LI.FI's for Base, and your own wallet signs there.
