What is a trading dashboard?

A trading dashboard puts prices, charts, positions and market data from many sources on one screen, so you can watch them side by side.

How does a trading dashboard work?

Active traders rarely stick to one source. A normal session is a chart, funding on a perp venue, a wallet balance, a list of new tokens and some news, each in its own tab.

Exchange terminals show one venue and come with order entry. Portfolio trackers show balances and not much else. Neither helps when what you need is funding from one venue next to a chart from another, and that is usually why traders end up building their own layout.

Freshness is the part most dashboards get wrong. A price that is thirty seconds old and one that is five minutes old look identical on screen, and a dashboard that shows stale numbers without saying so is worse than none. Every panel should say where its data comes from and how old it is.

Picture a perps trader who keeps BTC and SOL charts, a funding table, open interest across venues and a price alert on one screen. When funding spikes on one venue, the chart and open interest are right there to show whether new positions are driving it.

Where does a trading dashboard show up in Cashboard?

Cashboard is a spatial dashboard. Prices, charts, funding, portfolios and prediction markets are a few of the widget types that sit on an infinite canvas you arrange yourself, and none of them hides its source or the age of its numbers. The web version needs no account, and ten templates, from Perps Desk to the Solana and Hyperliquid desks, give you a starting layout.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a trading dashboard and a trading terminal?

A terminal usually belongs to one exchange and lets you place orders there. A dashboard pulls data from many sources and may not trade at all. Cashboard is the second kind: it reads markets and has no order ticket. Its own code never signs. The one way to trade from a board is a token swap on the web, where your own wallet signs in Jupiter's or LI.FI's form.
