How to track stablecoin supply and bridge flows
Add Market flows for total stablecoin supply from DefiLlama's public data and the value secured on layer 2s from L2BEAT, and Stablecoin risk for the split by coin and chain. Bridge flows are the gap. As of October 2026 DefiLlama's public bridge endpoint answers with a payment-required error, so Market flows has no Bridges tab and prints no stand-in number.
Step by step
- 1
Build it in one line
Open Ctrl K and enter flows, stablecoins as a single line. Cashboard builds Market flows and Stablecoin risk from it in one pass.
- 2
Read Overview
Overview shows the total supply of USD stablecoins DefiLlama tracks. Rising supply usually means new dollars minted onto chains. Falling supply means redemptions.
- 3
Check L2 capital
Switch the flows widget to L2 capital. It shows the dollar value secured on layer 2s, split into canonical (came over the chain's own bridge), external (came over a third-party bridge) and native (issued on the layer 2), with each chain's 7 day change. It is value held, not bridge volume, and because it is a dollar value, token prices move it too.
- 4
Add settlement networks
Chain status set to Ethereum, Base, Solana, Arbitrum One and BNB Chain shows block height, block age, fees and RPC latency where a large share of stablecoins settle. Tron, home to a big slice of USDT, is not in Cashboard's network list.
- 5
Lean on peg health
Stablecoin risk, which the recipe already placed, shows supply change and top chains per coin. With no bridge data, that is the best read on where dollars are moving.
Tips
- Supply moves slowly. A daily or weekly look tells you more than refreshing every few minutes.
- There is no ETF tab. No free feed exists, so no figures are filled in.

Frequently asked questions
What does rising stablecoin supply tell you?
More stablecoins are outstanding, usually because people deposited dollars with issuers and new tokens were minted on-chain. Traders often read it as fresh liquidity. On its own it tells you nothing about what any price will do next.
Does the flows widget show bridge volume?
No. DefiLlama now sells bridge volume through its paid API, so Market flows has no Bridges tab. The L2 capital tab shows the value secured on layer 2s from L2BEAT instead, which is a different measure.
