What is Bonk?
Bonk is a dog-themed memecoin on Solana that launched on December 25, 2022, when half of its supply was airdropped to Solana users, developers and NFT collectors. It is built into many Solana apps and tied to letsbonk.fun, a token launchpad that runs on Raydium LaunchLab.
BONK arrived at a bad time for Solana, weeks after the FTX collapse dragged SOL down. Half of the 100 trillion supply went out free on Christmas Day 2022, and it quickly became the coin people pointed to as proof that Solana still had users.
Burns have cut total supply to about 88 trillion. A share of letsbonk.fun fees buys BONK on the market and burns it, so launchpad activity feeds straight into supply.
On July 7, 2025 letsbonk.fun launched more tokens in a day than pump.fun and held about 58 percent of the Solana launchpad market. By August pump.fun was back above 70 percent. Launchpad share can flip in weeks, and BONK tends to move with it.

About 88 trillion after burns, down from 100 trillion at launch. Nearly all of it circulates, so there is no big vesting schedule, and supply only changes when BONK is burned.
Why is BONK called kBONK on some exchanges?
One BONK is worth a tiny fraction of a cent, so perp venues such as Hyperliquid list it in units of 1,000 tokens, called kBONK. A kBONK price is the BONK price times 1,000.
