Cardano (ADA) live price dashboard
Cardano is a proof-of-stake layer-1 founded by Charles Hoskinson, one of the Ethereum co-founders, and launched in September 2017. This board puts ADA beside BTC and ETH with 7-day and 30-day candles.
What is Cardano?
Cardano is a proof-of-stake layer-1 founded by Charles Hoskinson, one of the Ethereum co-founders, and launched in September 2017. It runs the Ouroboros consensus protocol, and smart contracts written in Plutus arrived in September 2021. ADA pays fees and is staked through pools, and since January 2025 holders also steer governance through delegate representatives (DReps).
ADA has a maximum supply of 45 billion. What is not yet circulating sits in a reserve, and every five-day epoch 0.3% of that reserve is paid out: 20% to the treasury, the rest as rewards to stake pools and their delegators. The reserve shrinks, so issuance falls a little every epoch.
Staking is liquid. The ADA never leaves your wallet, there is no lock-up and no slashing, which goes a long way to explain why so much of the supply is delegated.
Governance went fully on-chain with the Plomin hard fork on January 29, 2025. DReps, stake pool operators and a constitutional committee now vote on treasury withdrawals, parameter changes and hard forks. The van Rossem hard fork, enacted on July 18, 2026, moved mainnet to protocol version 11. Leios is the upgrade meant to raise throughput by a lot. Intersect is aiming for mainnet before the end of 2026, if testing and a governance vote go through, and ADA holders have heard "soon" before.

Frequently asked questions
What is the max supply of ADA?
45 billion ADA. The part not yet in circulation sits in a reserve that pays out 0.3% of its balance every five-day epoch, so new issuance keeps getting smaller as the reserve runs down.
Can you lose ADA by staking it?
No. Cardano has no slashing and no lock-up, and your ADA stays in your wallet while it is delegated to a pool. The risk is lower rewards from a badly run pool, not a loss of principal.
Can I track ADA without an account?
Yes. The ADA board on this page runs in your browser and saves on your device. Prices come from CoinGecko, and Binance fills in when CoinGecko does not answer. Cashboard does not read Cardano wallets, so add your amount to a manual Portfolio and it is priced live.
