TRON (TRX) live price dashboard
TRON is a layer-1 founded by Justin Sun that began as an ERC-20 token in 2017 and moved to its own mainnet in June 2018. This board puts TRX beside BTC and ETH with 7-day and 30-day candles.
What is TRON?
TRON is a layer-1 founded by Justin Sun that began as an ERC-20 token in 2017 and moved to its own mainnet in June 2018. Blocks come every three seconds from 27 elected Super Representatives under delegated proof of stake. Its real business is USDT: close to half of all Tether sits on TRON, much of it moving between exchanges and payment apps.
Every TRON transaction uses bandwidth, and smart contract calls such as a USDT transfer also need energy. You get energy by staking TRX, or you pay in TRX and that TRX is burned. Most wallets hide the mechanics. Plenty of users rent energy from third parties instead.
In August 2025 the Super Representatives passed Proposal 104, which cut the energy price from 210 sun to 100 sun. A USDT transfer to a wallet that already holds USDT went from about 13.4 TRX to 6.4 TRX. Cheap transfers are why TRON stays the default rail for exchange deposits.
TRX has no hard cap. New TRX goes to block producers and voters, and TRX spent on fees is burned, so net supply rises or falls with how busy the chain is.

Frequently asked questions
Why is USDT on TRON so popular?
Because it is cheap and nearly every exchange supports it. A transfer costs a few TRX, less if you have staked TRX for energy, and it lands in seconds. Close to half of all USDT in circulation lives on TRON.
What is the max supply of TRX?
TRX has no fixed maximum. The protocol mints TRX as block and voting rewards and burns the TRX spent on fees, and in busy periods the burn has been larger than new issuance.
Can I track TRX without an account?
Yes. The TRX board on this page runs in your browser and saves on your device. Prices come from CoinGecko, and Binance fills in when CoinGecko does not answer. Cashboard does not read TRON wallets, so add your amount to a manual Portfolio and it is priced live.
