Cosmos Hub (ATOM) live price dashboard
Cosmos Hub was the first chain in the Cosmos network, launched in March 2019 and secured by ATOM staking. This board puts ATOM beside BTC and ETH with 7-day and 30-day candles.
What is Cosmos Hub?
Cosmos Hub was the first chain in the Cosmos network, launched in March 2019 and secured by ATOM staking. Cosmos chains are built with the Cosmos SDK and CometBFT consensus (formerly Tendermint) and talk to each other through IBC. ATOM pays fees on the Hub and votes on its governance proposals.
The Hub went live on March 13, 2019, built by the team around Jae Kwon and Ethan Buchman, the people behind Tendermint. The plan was a network of sovereign chains instead of one big one. It worked for the software, and chains from Osmosis to dYdX run on the SDK and IBC. It worked less well for ATOM, because those chains owe the Hub nothing.
ATOM has no max supply. Inflation floats inside a band set by governance. Proposal 848 in November 2023 cut the ceiling from 20% to 10%, with 72.7% turnout, the highest in Hub history. An earlier overhaul, ATOM 2.0, was voted down in November 2022.
In December 2025 Cosmos Labs asked research firms to pitch a redesign, aiming for a fee-based model where ATOM earns from usage instead of inflation. Nine firms applied by the January 2026 deadline. Any change still needs a Hub vote.

What do traders watch on ATOM?
- The ATOM tokenomics redesign and the Hub votes that follow it.
- IBC transfer volume between Cosmos chains.
- New chains adopting the Cosmos SDK, which rarely brings demand for ATOM.

Frequently asked questions
Does ATOM have a max supply?
No. ATOM is inflationary, with the rate kept inside bounds that governance controls. Proposal 848 lowered the ceiling to 10% in November 2023.
What is the difference between Cosmos and the Cosmos Hub?
Cosmos is the whole network of chains built with the Cosmos SDK and linked by IBC. The Cosmos Hub is one chain in it, the one ATOM secures, and most Cosmos chains run their own tokens and validators.
Can I track ATOM without an account?
Yes. The ATOM board on this page runs in your browser and saves on your device. Prices come from CoinGecko. Cashboard does not read Cosmos Hub wallets, so add your amount to a manual Portfolio and it is priced live.
