Kaspa (KAS) live price dashboard

Kaspa is a proof-of-work coin that launched on November 7, 2021 with no premine and no presale. This board puts KAS beside BTC and ETH with 7-day and 30-day candles.

What is Kaspa?

Kaspa is a proof-of-work coin that launched on November 7, 2021 with no premine and no presale. Its GHOSTDAG protocol orders blocks that are mined in parallel, and since the Crescendo hard fork in May 2025 the network produces 10 blocks a second.

GHOSTDAG comes from research by Yonatan Sompolinsky and Aviv Zohar. When two blocks are mined at the same moment, Kaspa keeps both in a blockDAG and orders them afterwards instead of orphaning one. That is how a proof-of-work chain runs at 10 blocks per second. Mining uses kHeavyHash, and ASICs pushed GPUs out years ago.

Issuance follows what the community calls the chromatic halving. The block reward shrinks a little every month, by the same ratio as two neighboring semitones on a piano, so it halves once a year with no cliff. Crescendo went live on May 5, 2025 and cut the per-block reward from 55 to 5.5 KAS because blocks came ten times faster. Daily emission stayed the same. The cap is about 28.7 billion KAS.

Smart contracts live on separate layers. Kasplex runs a zkEVM rollup, and Igra Network opened its EVM mainnet on March 19, 2026. Nobody knows yet whether they will bring miners real fee income.

Frequently asked questions

What is the max supply of Kaspa?

About 28.7 billion KAS. The block reward halves every year through small monthly cuts, so most of that supply is already mined and new issuance gets smaller each month.

Does Kaspa have smart contracts?

Not on the base layer. EVM contracts run on layers built on top of Kaspa: Kasplex, a zkEVM rollup, and Igra Network, which launched its mainnet in March 2026. KAS itself stays a plain proof-of-work coin.

Can I track KAS without an account?

Yes. The KAS board on this page runs in your browser and saves on your device. Prices come from CoinGecko. Cashboard does not read Kaspa wallets, so add your amount to a manual Portfolio and it is priced live.
