Avalanche C-Chain Network Status & Trending Pools

Avalanche C-Chain block freshness, fees and RPC latency, plus the pools trending there, on the same board as the rest of your markets. Wallet tracking is not available on Avalanche C-Chain yet.

What is Avalanche C-Chain?

Avalanche C-Chain is the EVM contract chain of the Avalanche network, built by Ava Labs and secured by Snowman consensus. AVAX pays for gas. The wider network also hosts custom Avalanche L1s, which were called subnets until the Etna upgrade in December 2024.

Blocks are final in about a second and do not get reorganized, which suits trading apps that hate waiting. Every fee is paid in AVAX and burned. Validators earn staking rewards instead. The Etna upgrade cut the C-Chain minimum base fee, so most swaps now cost very little outside busy moments.

Anyone can validate the Primary Network with at least 2,000 AVAX staked, and those validators secure the C-Chain together with the P-Chain and X-Chain.

Spot trading runs through LFJ, the DEX formerly called Trader Joe, and Pharaoh. Benqi runs lending and sAVAX liquid staking, and Aave is the other big lending market. Avalanche also draws institutional tokenization, including the BlackRock BUIDL fund. Cashboard shows C-Chain status and trending pools, but Avalanche wallets cannot be watched in it yet.

What do traders watch on Avalanche C-Chain?

  • C-Chain gas. Every fee is burned in AVAX and Etna cut the minimum base fee, so a visible jump means real demand.
  • Trending pools on LFJ, the old Trader Joe, and Pharaoh, where most C-Chain spot trading happens.
  • Stablecoin and bridge flows between the C-Chain and the Avalanche L1s that were called subnets until December 2024.

Which apps run on Avalanche C-Chain?

On Avalanche C-Chain you will find LFJ, Benqi, Aave and Pharaoh. In Cashboard Desktop any of them can sit on the board as a web app, logged in separately from your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Avalanche C-Chain?

It is the Avalanche chain that runs EVM smart contracts, so it is the one MetaMask and most DeFi apps use. The P-Chain handles validators and L1s, and the X-Chain handles simple asset transfers.

Are Avalanche fees burned?

Yes. Every transaction fee on Avalanche is paid in AVAX and burned. Validators are paid through staking rewards, not fees.

What is the Avalanche C-Chain chain ID?

43114, or 0xa86a in the hex form some wallets and explorers print. Gas on Avalanche C-Chain is paid in AVAX.

Can Cashboard track Avalanche C-Chain wallets?

Not yet. Avalanche C-Chain has network status and trending pools today but no portfolio indexer, so a watch-only Portfolio set to Avalanche C-Chain cannot load balances. A manual Portfolio still works for holdings there.
