Widget reference

A widget is one card on your board that reads market data or holds your own content. The web build has 49 widget types, documented on seven pages. This page covers what every widget shares, helps you choose one by goal, and ends with a table of all of them.

What a widget is

A widget is one tool on a board: a card that reads market or wallet data, or holds something you write, and that you can move, resize and restyle. The web build has 49 widget types. A board saves up to 500 widgets, and you can add the same type more than once. The Agent and workstation library buttons in the top bar are workspace tools, not widget types; see Board Agent and Library.

CardA coloured strip along the top and a tinted tile behind the icon show the widget's family: blue for markets, rose for risk, emerald for yields, amber for alerts, violet for on-chain data, cyan for launches and grey for tools. A colour picked under Accent in the Style tab replaces the family colour.
HeaderThe widget's icon and title, with the source on a line under the title. On the right sit the widget's own controls, a freshness pill and, for most widgets, a small i button named How to read this widget that opens a note on how the numbers are built and what they leave out. Hovering the widget, or tabbing to its buttons, reveals Duplicate and Remove in the header; Ctrl D (Cmd D on macOS) also duplicates the selected widgets. Drag the header to move the widget. A Frame has a label chip and a Remove frame button in its header instead.
TitleEach new widget starts with a title of its own, such as Market for Prices and Bitcoin chart for Price chart. To rename one, select the widget, open the Style tab and edit Title under Selection (80 characters at most). Clear the field and the header shows the widget's type name. The same tab sets background, accent, corners, shadow and Lock position.
BodyThe data itself, usually with a thin strip of controls above it: a view switch, a sort, a row count and a refresh button.
Freshness pillHow old the data is: Live · 42s up to two minutes, then Updated 3m, Updated 5h or Updated 2d. It turns amber with Stale when a refresh failed and the last data stays on screen, rose with Source down while the widget shows an error card, and reads Loading, Connecting or Paused in those states. Some widgets show a fixed status instead, such as Live embed. A Note and a Frame have no source line or pill. Data sources says which clock each widget reads.
HandlesOne click selects a widget and shows resize handles on its corners and edges. Drag one to resize, between 220 by 140 and 2,400 by 1,800 pixels at 100% zoom. A locked widget has no handles.

Moving, zooming and tidying are covered in Boards and canvas, and the key list is in Keyboard shortcuts.

Choose a widget by goal

Find the row that matches what you want to do, start with the first widget and add the others as you need them. Each name links to its entry in the reference. Twelve widgets in this reference are not in the installed Cashboard Desktop 0.4.2; Web and desktop lists them.

Adding widgets

Open the Add tab of the tool panel. In the web build it holds 60 cards in 11 groups: Intelligence tools (3 cards), Markets (9), Your positions (5), Risk and flows (7), Solana (11), Hyperliquid (5), Base (5), Arbitrum (3), Robinhood (6), Ethereum (2) and On the board (4). Every group starts folded. Click a header to open it, and Cashboard remembers on this device which groups you opened.

Sixty-one cards make 49 widget types because twelve repeat another widget with a different start. Trending appears under Markets, Solana, Base and Arbitrum. Graduating and Pons launches are Launchpad radar variants. Chain pulse and Chain yields appear under Base, Robinhood, Arbitrum and Hyperliquid, Tokenized under Markets and Robinhood, and EVM swap under Base and Robinhood.

Click a card to add the widget. It lands in the middle of what you are looking at, in a free spot when there is one, and it starts selected and active so you can use it at once. The view does not move. In a window narrower than 768 pixels the tool panel opens from the Open dashboard tools button and closes again after you add a widget.

The Add panel has no search box. To find a widget by name, use the command palette:

  1. 1

    Open the palette

Press Ctrl K (Cmd K on macOS), or click Commands in the top bar (an icon when the window is narrower than 1,280 pixels).

  2. 2

    Type part of a name

Each widget except Frame has a row that starts with Add, for example Add live prices, Add funding rates or Add live liquidations (Binance, Bybit, OKX). The hint reads Widget, or Desktop app for Dune query and Web app on the web. The search matches any part of the row's name. A few widgets have more than one row, such as Add Base swap (connect an EVM wallet) and Add Robinhood Chain swap (connect an EVM wallet).

  3. 3

    Press Enter

Enter adds the widget in the middle of your view. Esc closes the palette without adding anything.

To add several widgets at once, type a list with commas, and, + or & between the names. prices, chart and funding offers one row, Build Prices, Price chart, Funding rates, with the hint 3 widgets. Enter places the three together as a block just below what is already on the board and fits the view to the whole board. A phrase that matches no widget is skipped, and the row's hint names the first one it skipped.

Frame has no Add row in the palette. Add it from On the board in the Add panel, or with Frame under Canvas tools on the Style tab. To start from a finished layout instead, the 12 board templates place a set of widgets together; see Templates and sharing.

Selected, active and idle widgets

One click selects a widget and a second click makes it active. The difference matters because only an active widget takes clicks, scrolling and typing.

IdleNot selected. Scrolling over the widget pans the board and pinching zooms it, so passing over a crowded board does not change a setting by accident.
SelectedOne click. A ring and resize handles appear, the Style tab now edits this widget, and a pill reading Click to use this widget shows over the body. A transparent cover keeps clicks from reaching the controls underneath.
ActiveA second click on the selected widget, a double click, or Enter while it is selected. The widget now takes clicks, the scroll wheel and typing. A widget you add starts active; a duplicate starts selected.

Press Esc to leave an active widget; it stays selected. While the cursor is in one of its text fields, Esc does not leave it. Click empty canvas to deselect the widget. With the Hand tool (H) no widget becomes active, which makes it a safe tool for crossing a crowded board. Press V to return to the Select tool.

Controls that appear only on an active widget

Some widgets keep their settings out of sight until you activate them, so an idle board stays compact. The settings are saved with the board and stay in force while the control is hidden. Switches such as a view or a sort are usually visible all the time, but they respond only once the widget is active.

  • Row counts: Real-world assets, Solana radar, Robinhood stock tokens (in its token view), Base stock tokens, Robinhood perps, L2 scoreboard, Base launches, Prediction markets, Raydium pools and Funding rates show their row-count control only while active.
  • Layout toggles: Ethereum pulse switches between Full and Compact, and Hyperliquid pulse between Full and Tiles.
  • Pickers and filters: the coin search in Prices and Watchlist, the symbol chips in Stocks and Tokenized stocks, the network buttons in Chain status, the network and pool count in Trending on-chain, the market filter in Funding rates, and the metric, asset, direction and threshold controls in Price alert.
  • Editors: a Note shows Edit and Preview only while active. Portfolio shows its source editor, Perps positions its address field and Smart money graph its wallet form while active, and also while they have no address or wallet yet.

How widgets show what they do not know

Third-party feeds fail, lag and leave gaps. A widget shows what its source returned and says so when it could not. The table lists each signal and what it means.

Signals that a widget is missing, old or approximate data
What you seeWhat it means
A card saying the widget is temporarily unavailable, with a Try again buttonThe source did not answer and the widget has nothing earlier to show. Your board is still saved. The button reads Retrying… while it works. Prices says Market data is temporarily unavailable., and some cards add that no cached figures are shown.
An amber line such as Update delayed. Showing the latest available prices.A refresh failed after a good read, and the widget kept its last data. Price chart says Update delayed · showing the last candles, Portfolio says Refresh failed · showing the reading from 3m ago, Narratives names the source that did not answer, and Solana edge adds update delayed to its source line. Most widgets also turn their freshness pill amber with Stale; widgets without either signal still keep their last data, so check the age in the pill.
stale · 4m, Stale or stale beside a reading, or a dimmed bodyThe reading is older than that widget's own limit. Price chart flags candles read more than 3 minutes ago. Portfolio flags a watch-only reading after 90 seconds and a manual one after 45 seconds, and dims its body. Net worth flags a source whose latest refresh failed. Perps positions dims after 30 seconds.
n/a, Partial update · unavailable: BTC, ETH or a chip reading UnavailableOne part is missing while the rest works. Prices names the coins it has no quote for. Perps risk marks each venue Live, Limited or Unavailable. Portfolio shows n/a for a token with no verified price and leaves it out of the total. Net worth tags a failed source unavailable and reports a line such as 2/3 sources · verified values only. When no source answers it says No total is estimated.
No Bridges or ETFs tab in Market flowsMarket flows has Overview, DEX and L2 capital. DefiLlama answers HTTP 402 for bridge volume (bridges are paid) and no provider feeds ETF flows, so those two tabs were replaced and nothing takes their place with a guess. A desktop build older than this change still lists them.
≈ before a numberCashboard worked the figure out rather than reading it from a source. You see it on the Net worth total, on the dollar value of Ethereum's burn in Ethereum pulse, on the share of Swap fees you keep after Jupiter's cut, on the lamport and time-to-rewards figures in Solana pulse, and after the Cost and Proceeds headings in Liquidity X-ray.
A Promoted tag, or a source reading DexScreener boostedThe row is a paid placement, not a ranking by activity. Narratives tags every token on its Promoted tab with the tooltip Paid placement on DexScreener, not a signal. Trending on-chain falls back to boosted profiles when GeckoTerminal has no feed for a chain, and its source line and note say so.
3 of 15 min seen in LiquidationsThe widget counts only liquidations that arrived since you opened the page, so a fresh page covers less than its window and says so. Totals are also a floor: Binance and OKX publish at most one liquidation per contract per second, and Bybit is followed only on its most traded USDT perps.

The i button in a widget header holds the method for that widget: how a ratio is worked out, what a feed leaves out, and which totals are floors rather than complete counts. Read it before you rely on a number.

Live streams and polled widgets

Six widgets stream live data in at least one view. A streaming widget shows a green Live badge, or an amber Reconnecting badge while it retries the connection. Every other widget polls: it asks its source again on a timer.

Widgets that stream, and what stays on a timer
WidgetWhat streamsWhat is polled
Prices and WatchlistPrice and 24h move of every coin Cashboard maps to a Binance USDT pair (40 of its 48 listed coins), from Binance's public market data. The screen updates at most once a second.Market cap, volume, day range and the 7 day trend, every 15 seconds from CoinGecko. Coins without a Binance pair, such as stablecoins, stay on that poll.
Hyperliquid marketsMarks about once a second on the Movers, OI and HIP-3 views, and large trades on Tape.Volume, open interest and funding, every 30 seconds (60 seconds for Spot and HIP-3). The Funding and Spot views have no stream.
LiquidationsForced liquidations from Binance, Bybit and OKX as they happen.Nothing on a timer. The contract lists are read once at the start. There is no refresh button, and the history starts when the page opens.
Launchpad radarOn Solana, new pump.fun and Bonk.fun coins in the New view the moment they are created. On Robinhood Chain, Pons launches, graduations and curve trades. The lists, every 15 to 30 seconds depending on the view. The Momentum and Graduating views on Solana have no stream.
Robinhood perpsMarks on the Stocks and Crypto views, from Lighter's Robinhood Chain stream. The market snapshot, every 20 seconds. Spot and Funding use the snapshot only.

Polling intervals run from every 5 seconds for Liquidity X-ray to every 30 minutes for L2 scoreboard, and most sit between 15 and 60 seconds. Market events stores user-entered dates rather than polling a calendar. The freshness pill tells you how recent a reading is.

Streams open from your own device straight to the venue. When one drops, Cashboard retries with a wait that grows from 1 to 30 seconds, and a widget that also polls keeps refreshing meanwhile. A widget outside the part of the board you can see is not drawn, so it neither streams nor polls until you pan back to it.

Web and desktop

The same widgets run on cashboard.live and in Cashboard Desktop, except three that need the desktop app: Dune query, MCP tool and Web app with any address. A few others read their data differently in each build, as the table shows. The Desktop column describes builds that include the widget; the installer you can download today is older, as the note below explains.

Widgets that differ between the web build and Cashboard Desktop
WidgetOn the webIn Cashboard Desktop
Dune queryThe Add panel card is dimmed and carries a Desktop badge. Clicking it, or choosing Add Dune query in the palette (hint Desktop app), opens a dialog titled Dune query runs in the desktop app. A Dune query widget that arrives on a shared board with a query already chosen shows Dune works in Cashboard Desktop and a link that opens the query on dune.com.Reads Dune results with your own Dune API key, saved under Connections.
MCP toolThe Add panel card is dimmed and carries a Desktop badge, and the palette row Add MCP tool (desktop) opens the same desktop dialog.Shows one tool of an MCP server you added under Connections, from the next desktop release. See Agents and MCP servers.
Web app (the Custom app card)The same dimmed card and dialog for the plain card. The Partners (DuckFacts) and Embedded dashboards cards are not dimmed: they run a short list of read-only embedded pages in a sandboxed frame. A Web app with any other address becomes an address card with an Open in a new tab button, and that site is never embedded.Runs the site live inside the widget, in its own isolated session for each widget. Up to 3 pages run live at once; the rest show a snapshot until you activate them.
Jupiter swapLoads Jupiter's own swap form inside the widget, and your wallet signs the swap there. Jupiter runs one swap form per page, so a second Jupiter swap widget offers Use it here.Shows Swaps run in your browser and an Open on Jupiter button that opens jup.ag. Nothing is embedded.
EVM swapLoads LI.FI's swap form inside the widget, with a wallet menu for the EVM wallets your browser exposes. Your wallet signs each transaction there.Shows Swaps run in your browser and an Open on Jumper button that opens Jumper, LI.FI's own app. Nothing is embedded.
Smart money on Robinhood ChainShows Needs a Blockscout key, because the web build cannot store keys.Works once a Blockscout key is saved under Connections.
Portfolio on EVM networks, and Net worth through itAs of October 2026, several EVM networks do not answer on the hosted site, because their public hosts refuse server requests or no longer answer. Solana and some other networks do answer. The Your positions page lists which. The app asks the same public hosts itself, so some networks can fail there too. A Blockscout endpoint saved under Connections serves one network. See Blockscout.

The Connections tab of the tool panel saves keys only in Cashboard Desktop; on the web it says that protected connections are configured in the desktop app. The desktop tab holds four optional data connections (CoinGecko Demo, Blockscout, Coinbase RPC and Dune) and two B Cash planner keys (Anthropic key and OpenAI key), stored with the operating system's secure storage, plus the Agents (MCP) and MCP servers sections. See Connections, Blockscout and Cashboard Desktop. The dialog on a dimmed web card lists the installers and the one-time price; Lifetime access has the details.

A widget with cards in several groups is documented once: Trending on-chain and Tokenized stocks on the Markets page, Launchpad radar on the Solana page, and Chain pulse and EVM swap on the Hyperliquid, Base, Robinhood and Ethereum page.

Each widget entry has the same parts:

  • A short summary of what the widget is for, and a facts row with its place in the Add panel, where it works and what it needs, such as a key or a Connection.
  • What it shows: the tabs, columns and tiles you will see.
  • How to use it and Settings: the controls, and the options you can change.
  • Data and refresh: the providers and how often the widget asks them.
  • Good to know: empty states, caveats and limits. A closing line names the widgets it pairs well with and links to a ready-made board when there is one.

The last section of this page, Every widget at a glance, lists every widget in tables grouped the way the Add panel groups them, with its Add panel location, where it works and what it does.

Frequently asked questions

How many widgets does Cashboard have?

49 widget types in the web build, offered as 61 Add cards in 11 groups because twelve cards repeat a type with a different configuration. As of October 2026 the installed Cashboard Desktop 0.4.2 has 37 of the 49, and the Web and desktop section names the other 12. The Agent button and the workstation library are separate workspace tools. The last section of this page lists every widget and where it works.

Why can I not click or scroll inside a widget?

The widget is not active yet. Click it once to select it, then click it again, double-click it or press Enter to use it. Until then, scrolling over it moves the board. Press Esc to leave an active widget.

Do I need an account or an API key to use widgets?

No widget needs an account, and nearly all of them work without a key. Dune query needs your own Dune API key and runs only in Cashboard Desktop, and Smart money and Smart money graph need a Blockscout key to follow wallets on Robinhood Chain. The two swap widgets need your own wallet to complete a swap. Optional keys saved on desktop raise limits for prices and EVM wallet reads.

Which widgets update live?

Prices, Watchlist, Hyperliquid markets, Liquidations, Launchpad radar and Robinhood perps stream live data in supported views. Other data widgets poll, from every 5 seconds for Liquidity X-ray to every 30 minutes for L2 rankings. Notes, frames and Market events hold user content rather than a live feed.

Can a widget place a trade for me?

No widget places an order on its own. On the web, Jupiter swap loads Jupiter's form for Solana tokens and EVM swap loads the LI.FI form for Base and Robinhood Chain tokens, and a transaction is signed only after you review the route and confirm in your own wallet. Cashboard Desktop opens jup.ag or Jumper in your browser instead. Alerts only notify, and Paper trading is a local simulation. The Trading and signing page lists every point where your wallet is involved.

How do I rename a widget?

Select the widget, open the Style tab and edit Title under Selection. Clearing the field makes the header show the widget's type name again.
